These renovation projects have been supported by many student groups including Central Student Government (CSG) and many other campus student governments and organizations. Below are several student organizations that have been closely connected to renovations.
Building A Better Michigan
In 2011 the Chair of MUBR (Michigan Union Board of Representatives) and the Chair of ACRS(Advisory Committee for Recreational Sports) joined together to form a new student advisory group - Building a Better Michigan. Their goal was to mobilize students and to give them a chance to have their voices heard regarding the future development of the University Unions and Recreational Sports facilities.
Michigan Union Board Of Representatives
MUBR has been in place since the founding of the Union in 1904. For decades this student group ran the Union and was the decision making body regarding the Union. Today the board accomplishes the objectives in their charter by working jointly with the Director of the Michigan Union on building use policies, allocation of spaces, scheduling policies, and policies to encourage programming in the Michigan Union.
Advisory Committee to Recreational Sports
ACRS is a committee of students, faculty, staff, and retirees who provide feedback and guidance to Recreational Sports.
